Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending the remarkable event, “Come Together: Networking and Connecting with Communes,” which unfolded in a spirit of collaboration and learning. The event took place at our vibrant working space at Radio Ara, located at 4 Place des Rotondes, 2448 Bonnevoie. It was the final networking event before the summer, and it truly lived up to its promise of connecting communes across Luxembourg.
The event kicked off at 17:30 with a warm welcome from the organizers, who set the stage for an evening filled with engaging discussions and meaningful connections. The attendees, representing various communes from all over Luxembourg, arrived with a palpable sense of enthusiasm, eager to share their experiences and learn from one another.
A significant highlight of the evening was the keynote presentation by the esteemed Andreja Wirtz from the City of Esch’s equality office. Andreja, with her extensive background as a linguist and sociologist specializing in intercultural communication and conflict-related migration, brought a wealth of knowledge and insight to the event. Her expertise provided a deep understanding of the complexities and opportunities within communal living and intercultural dialogue.
During her presentation, Andreja introduced the exciting Maison de la Diversité project, which is set to open provisionally by late 2025 or early 2026. She shared the politically approved basic concept of the project, which aims to be a cornerstone for fostering diversity and inclusion within the community. Andreja also provided detailed insights into the participatory process that has shaped the project, highlighting the main concerns and contributions raised by the community members. This inclusive approach resonated deeply with the audience, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in such significant initiatives.
The networking sessions that followed were dynamic and fruitful. Attendees engaged in animated discussions, exchanging ideas and forging new connections that are expected to strengthen communal bonds across Luxembourg. The event provided a platform for participants to share their successes, challenges, and innovative solutions, fostering a sense of solidarity and shared purpose.
As the event drew to a close, there was a collective sense of accomplishment and optimism. The connections made and the ideas exchanged during “Come Together” have undoubtedly sown the seeds for future collaborations and initiatives aimed at enhancing communal living and intercultural understanding.
